This past week was a busy one with lots of personal achievements and fun times.
First, I found out that I will be interning in the Web department BBC America in their NY offices. I am beyond excited about the opportunity to be working with some very talented people and some fellow anglophiles. I can already tell I will learn a lot and love working there.
Also this week: UWire, a free membership organization for college student media, announced today their list of top 100 student journalists in the country:
My professors Mark Berkey-Gerard, Kathryn Quigley, US Weekly editor Allison Corneau, and Whit colleagues Eileen Cox and Bobbi Hitchon nominated me for this honor and I greatly appreciate their kind words and everything they have done to help me achieve this honor.
Other winners I would like to acknowledge:
- Daniel Bachhuber (UWire)
- Jackie Hai (UWire)
- Adam Hemphill (UWire)
- Emily Ingram (UWire)
- Greg Linch (UWire)
- Lauren Rabiano (UWire)
Congrats to all the other winners and I look forward to meeting some of you this summer in NY for the UWire Class of ’09 event.
Also this week: I attended BarCamp Philly where I met a majority of the fellow CoPress kids. It was so nice to finally meet everyone, especially since BarCamp was such a productive, insightful day. Weren’t there? Catch up on some of the discussions and videos from BarCamp Philly. It was truly a great event, thanks to the hard work of Sean Blanda and sponsors.

Congrats Emily! Your blog has been RSSed.
Wow, BBC America? That’s awesome, many congrats!
And congrats on your UWIRE 100 win!
PS. Your blog redesign is suh-weet. WooThemes FTW.
That’s fantastic news! Congrats!
Sean Blanda=UWire 100 inaugural list member with that crazy cat Greg Linch and the others.
Congratulations on BBC and the list, too.
Congrats on landing a summer gig with the BBC. I’m sure it will be an incredible experience.
Be sure to stop by my Anglophile blog – Anglotopia and share your story. We’d love to hear it!
Good Luck!
